125th Anniversary Theme and Commemorative Logo
On May 19, 1892, the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC) was founded by Clara Howard, C’1892. The 2016–2017 fiscal year marks the 125th Anniversary of the NAASC. To commemorate the occasion members were invited to submit a 125th anniversary theme and logo design that celebrates 125 years of service and sisterhood and exemplifies what the NAASC represents to them.

After a review of the entries, the NAASC Membership committee recommended that two designs be merge into one final design. We are pleased to present the 125th Anniversary theme and logo, designed by Alysa Story C’86 and Dawn Thompson C’86:

The NAASC has commissioned Najah Drakes, C’96, and her company Divinico ( to design high end rhinestone encrusted 125th anniversary merchandise to be sold to commemorate this great achievement. All merchandise will feature the winning logo and theme.

Items will be available for a limited time and will be debuted at the SpelHouse Reunion ‘16. Stop by the NAASC tent on Saturday, October 29th to see the items and pre-order your merchandise. Not coming to homecoming? No problem. 125th Anniversary merchandise can be ordered at

Thanks to Alysa Story C’86 and Dawn Thompson C’86 for their vision!
