Reconnecting in Spirit: Announcing Our Holiday SisterSoul Check-In
Over the past several weeks, many of us have felt the weight of life’s challenges — individually and collectively. Whether in alumnae spaces, chapter gatherings, or online communities, it has become increasingly clear that our Spelman Sisterhood continues to be a refuge where we can speak openly, be heard, and be held.
Our NAASC Chaplain, Reverend Angie Johnson recently shared something that has been resting on her heart: the need for intentional Spiritual Care Check-Ins — a renewed opportunity for us to ground ourselves, breathe together, and reconnect in the spirit of love and support.
During the early days of the pandemic and even through the West Coast wildfires, many of us remember how meaningful our virtual touchpoints were. Those Zoom gatherings weren’t just meetings; they were lifelines. They offered prayer, reflection, laughter, and a reminder that no one was walking through uncertainty alone.
Today, as so many Spelman siblings continue to navigate strain, transition, grief, or simply the quiet exhaustion of being strong for too long, the need for that communal care has resurfaced.
Our goal is simple:
To remind every Spelman sister that she is seen, valued, and surrounded by a community that cares.
Why Now?
Because reaching out for support shouldn’t require bravery.
Because no one should struggle alone.
Because sisterhood is one of our greatest spiritual resources.
And because there is healing in gathering — even across screens.
Stay Tuned
We invite every sister who feels called to join us in this moment of collective rest and renewal. In the meantime, hold space for yourself and for one another. We look forward to coming together in love and support.
