2024 NAASC Runoff Elections

We are having a runoff for Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Corresponding Secretary because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote. The following candidates running for office are:

Assistant Treasurer:

Christel Jackson, C'1984

Alexis N. Simmons, C’2016

Assistant Corresponding Secretary:

Stacey A. Frazier, C’1999

Renée J. Ross, C’1992



Runoff Elections are held on April 1, 2024 through April 8, 2024.

Eligible voters must be financial members from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.

An electronic ballot will be sent out April 1 to the email address on file with NAASC. It will come from NAASC. Please check your spam. If we do not have your email address on file, a paper ballot will be sent to the home address on file with NAASC. We encourage everyone to take the time to vote. It will take no more than five minutes to cast your vote!

Campaign Rules - NAASC Officer Candidates

Candidates who are running for a national office for the National Alumnae Association of

Spelman College are prohibited from campaigning for election by:

  • Using national, regional, and chapter NAASC social media accounts that include and are not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

  • Appearing solely in publications, newsletters, and any other documents that aredistributed by NAASC at the national, regional, or chapter levels to Spelman alumnae such as the Journal of Sisterhood, chapter newsletters, regional newsletters, etc.;

  • Using the NAASC national, regional, or chapter email, social media, or any other accounts to distribute campaign videos, messages, candidacy platforms, and other promotional information.

  • Posting or tagging photos, messages, or videos on the NAASC national, regional, or chapter social media accounts.

  • Posting or tagging photos, messages, or videos on social media groups that target Spelman alumnae but do not allow all Spelman women to participate (e.g., Spelman Moms, sorority pages, class pages, etc.);

  • Seeking or accepting endorsements from: NAASC officers at the national, regional, or chapter levels; NAASC chapters or regional bodies; Spelman College faculty, and staff.

Note that all candidates must be an alumna of Spelman College, meet the office/position guidelines as described in the NAASC Constitution and Bylaws, and have been an active member of the NAASC in good standing who has paid dues for two consecutive years prior to nomination or is a life member. Candidates for the President-Elect position must also be graduates of Spelman College not less than five years standing.
